The Claus that Refreshes

I think this one is from a couple of years ago. A tribute to the illustrator Haddon Sundblom who in his advertising paintings defined our impression of the "modern" Santa Claus. I love his effortless paintings and it was a fun exercise to use his colors and try to capture a bit of the feel of his stuff. Acrylic 4X8

  2. Great job, it really does look in that vintage style. Apparently if we conceive Santa's colors as white and red nowadays is because of Coca-Cola, no less.

  3. This is my current wallpaper cos it was on the Season Two DVD. I love the vintage Coca-Cola adverts so much and it's not really Christmas until you see one of these ads, so I was very happy when I first saw this on the disc.

  5. The season is yet to start without an image of Santa drinking that refreshing beverage. You did a great job of capturing essence of those illustrations, with a little Sam and Max as well also scores points of course.
